WE WANT TO WIN - ADKINS
Posted on: Fri 05 Sep 2008
Manager Nigel Adkins says his team will head to fellow promotion chasers Brighton on Saturday trying to win all three points.
The boss played down talk of going for a draw in his pre-match press conference, explaining that he wants to make it four wins in succession against the Seagulls, who sit just above them in the League One table, this weekend.
"Brighton are going to be up there," said Adkins, speaking on Iron World.
"They've brought a new manager in, they're well-financed and are potentially going to move to a new stadium now.
"The Withdean Stadium does give them a psychological edge though and we've got to address that before we even get down there.
"If you go to Brighton and keep a clean sheet then everybody is happy about that. We're going to go down there to try and win it, and the following week we've got Carlisle at home.
"These are two great games that we're looking forward to and we'll be very positive in our outlook.
"i've set my stall out for what I want us to achieve this season."
He added: "I want us to get promoted, and I want us to get to Wembley - that's my goal.
"We all have goals in life and that's what we're striving to achieve.
"I believe we've assembled a group of players now which gives us the opportunity to do that.
"We've just got to keep working very hard. We've all got to do our best to make sure that, come the end of the season, we're in with a shout."
