Scunthorpe boss Nigel Adkins expects an entertaining spectacle when Peterborough arrive at Glanford Park this weekend.

The Iron go head-to-head with one of the most talked-about frontline outside the Premier League, in the shape of Craig Mackail-Smith and Aaron McLean.

And the challenge of trying to get a first win of the season on the board against such a talented side is something Adkins will enjoy.

"Peterborough are a top team," explained the boss, speaking on Iron World.

"They had massive investment last season and got themselves promoted. They have high aspirations this year.

"They paid a lot of money for the two strikers who they brought in from non-league.

"They have a frontline of four who are excellent, and they'll present a challenge to us this weekend.

"It's a game I'm really looking forward to. There's a desire among our players at this moment in time and they want to do well.

"We've had an interesting week to start off with and we have a home fixture now which we're looking forward to.

"I'm sure it will be a good game."
