LEEDS UNITED PROGRAMME
Posted on: Fri 08 Aug 2008
This season's first bumper edition of The Iron matchday magazine will be on sale from the ground this Saturday for the visit of Leeds United in the 2008-09 season opener.
We kick off with the thoughts of manager Nigel Adkins and new skipper Izzy Iriekpen, before featuring interviews with Grant McCann, Paul Hayes and former Leeds player Ian Morris.
We have in-depth coverage of the away team as well as photography, statistics and reaction from the Iron's final two friendlies.
Club legend Alex Calvo-Garcia writes the first of his exclusive programme columns, while we also hear from Scunthorpe Telegraph sports editor Bob Steels and BBC Radio Humberside's Scunthorpe United reporter Matt Dean.
We find out more about goalkeeper Josh Lillis and look back at the most memorable match between Scunthorpe and Leeds.
There's an interview with referee Lee Probert, as well as the Yorkshire Evening Post's Leeds United reporter Phil Hay.
Physiotherapist Alex Dalton updates us with the latest news from the club's treatment room, while Tony Daws gives us an in-depth review of pre-season and introduces fans to the new first year TY's.
There is also plenty of coverage from the Scunthorpe United FC Community and Sports Trust, as its chief executive Lee Turnbull explains the new status of what was formerly Football in the Community.
We have action from the club's Photo Day earlier in the week, as well as pictures from when the players visited club sponsor Rainham Steel's Scunthorpe base.
Long-serving player Bob Oates is back in town as part of a the hospitality for Saturday's game, and we feature an interview with him looking back at his career and time with Scunthorpe. Michael Norton presents his Diary Of A Season, kicking off with the 1980-81 campaign, while we also have all the latest Junior Iron news.
We preview the upcoming away fixture at Walsall, as well as the next home game against Peterborough United. We also review all the latest goings-on in Coca-Cola League One.
There's a poster, there are features written for the fans by the fans, there's all the latest club news and there are quizzes in our brand new matchday publication.
There's much much more as well though, in the first matchday programme of the season.
The Iron matchday magazine is on sale for just £3.00 all around the ground this Saturday.
