The Iron will start the 2008-09 League One season at home to Leeds United on Saturday, August 9.

The first away match comes to Walsall a week later, before Peterborough United are the next home visitors on Saturday, August 23. The month finishes with a trip to Stockport County.

The first Tuesday night league match sees Southend United come to town towards the end of October, while Leicester City head to Glanford Park for one of the biggest games of the season in late November.

The Christmas period sees United visit Colchester United's new stadium on Saturday, December 20, while they then host Hartlepool United on Friday, December 26. A trip to Huddersfield Town, Jim Goodwin's new club, comes two days later.

The reverse of the opening day fixture at Leeds is in late February, while the Easter weekend sees them host Huddersfield on the Saturday before heading to Hartlepool two days later.

Scunthorpe finish the season away at Leicester on Saturday, April 25 and, at home to Tranmere Rovers on Saturday, May 2.
