IRELAND BOOST FOR JOE?

United stopper Joe Murphy's chances of starting for the Republic of Ireland in their two upcoming friendlies have been given a boost.
Birmingham goalkeeper Colin Doyle was forced to pull out of Giovanni Trapattoni's squad on Friday evening through injury, leaving Murphy and West Brom's Dean Kiely fighting it out for the No. 1 jersey.
The coach will decide on Saturday whether to call up a third goalkeeper, but - with established Irish keeper Shay Given also out through injury - this could be Murphy's chance to stake his claim.
The former Sunderland man has enjoyed a superb two seasons with Scunthorpe, and was rewarded earlier in the campaign with an international recall.
He was on the bench for the matches with Wales and Brazil, and could be in contention for the fixtures against Serbia and Colombia.
They also plan to play matches against Portuguese sides Portimonese and Lagos during their time on a training camp in the Algarve.
