Iron forward Paul Hayes has been chosen for the Football League's Championship Team of the Week after his brace in Sunday's 3-3 home draw with Colchester.

It is the third week in succession that the in-form hotshot has featured in the side.

The 24-year-old has finished the campaign on a high, scoring five goals in three games - which bodes well for next season in League One.

United were 3-1 down after a poor start to the second-half against the U's on Sunday, but hit back through Hayes' second-half double.

He joins fellow Iron stars Joe Murphy, Marcus Williams, Jim Goodwin, Ian Morris, Martin Paterson, Jack Hobbs, Cliff Byrne, Jack Cork, Kevan Hurst, Andy Crosby and Izzy Iriekpen in being selected for the team at one stage or another this season.
