MAY INJURED AS RESERVES WIN
Striker Ben May was substituted with a head injury during the Iron's 1-0 reserve win against Hull City on Wednesday night.
As a result, he could be a doubt for the first-team fixture at Crystal Palace on Saturday.
May had to go off twice for treatment in the first half. However, he was still bleeding - even after treatment.
The referee said after the second time, if it bled again he would have to go off - which he did to be replaced by Jamie Hales just before the end of the first half.
Paul Hayes struck six minutes from time to seal victory for the visitors at North Ferriby United's Church Road ground.
The ex-Barnsley forward scored with a fine chip over the stranded Hull keeper Matt Duke, after passing one defender and holding off an impending challenge from two others on the right-hand side of the penalty area. The goalkeeper had no chance.
Scunthorpe just had the edge in an entertaining game, with the back four of Joe Wilcox, youth team prospect Jake Picton, Jack Hobbs and Leeds trialist Chris Fisher looking particularly strong. Duane Grace, another player on trial from Elland Road, did not play.
Josh Lillis had a couple of fine saves to make, but it was a good result for a second string United team which has lost just once since the turn of the year.
