SCUNTHORPE UNITED RES 3-3 GRIMSBY TOWN RES

Posted on: Wed 24 Oct 2007

United reserves were forced to settle for a share of the spoils after playing most of the match against Grimsby Town with ten men.

Izzy Iriekpen was given his marching orders early in the first half for a headbutt on Nathan Jarman.

Marcus Williams put the Iron ahead with a spectacular individual goal and trialist Alassane N'Dour (below) coolly finished from inside the box to make it 2-0.

Grimsby pulled one back from the penalty spot after Joe Wilcox fouled but the Iron restored their two goal advantage before the break when the impressive N'Dour headed home.

The second half proved a different story as the visitors fought their way back into the game eventually bringing the scores back to 3-3.
