The Iron's reserves kick-off their new season on Wednesday evening when they take on Sheffield United B at the Don Valley Stadium (7pm kick-off).

Tony Daws' side will be hoping for better things this season but, with a small first team squad, he may well have to rely on trainees again to turn out for the reserve side during the campaign - giving them vital match experience against senior players.

The likes of on-loan Kelly Youga (right), Dave Mulligan, Josh Lillis, Joe Wilcox, Peter Winn and Daniel McBreen look set to appear against the Blades as Scunthorpe seek to start the campaign in style.
