Scunthorpe United are waiting to receive an offer from Sheffield United for star striker Billy Sharp.

Reports that suggest Sharp has already joined the Blades are premature with a deal yet to be struck between the two clubs.

Sharp has had discussions with a number of clubs in recent weeks including Sheffield United and following those talks the player has indicated that he favours a move back to the Blades just two years after leaving.

However, the Iron have yet to receive a bid from Sheffield United as general manager Jamie Hammond confirmed yesterday.

Sheffield United football chairman Terry Robinson said: "It's well known that Norwich City, Sheffield Wednesday and Wolverhampton Wanderers are all looking at him and have all discussed him."

Billy Sharp has attracted a lot of interest this summer.

Robinson continued: "Because nothing's been finalised, I can't confirm it, but I will not deny it. I'd have thought there was a good chance of Billy Sharp being at Bramall Lane next season."
