Iron boss Nigel Adkins has dismissed reports in the media linking him with a bid for Hibernian targetman Colin Nish.

News outlets in Scotland had linked United with the 27-year-old, but Adkins says there's nothing in it.

"I did have a telephone call from this player's agent a couple of years ago," Adkins told the Scunthorpe Telegraph.

"I am not aware of any speculation in the press but there is nothing in it.

"I have had no further contact with the player or his agent."
