Iron goalkeeper Joe Murphy was dismayed by the performance his side put in during Saturday's 4-0 defeat at Sheffield Wednesday.

Indeed, it was the irishman who kept the score down - pulling off a string of saves to stop the hosts from adding more goals to their tally.

"We let the fans down, we let the manager down and we let ourselves down," Murphy told the Scunthorpe Telegraph.

"I feel sorry for the supporters who travelled there to watch us.

"What we produced was just not good enough. From the first minute to the last we were poor.

"It was probably the worst performance we have produced during my time here at this club."
