STRIKER GRATEFUL
Iron striker Paul Hayes has expressed his gratitude to manager Nigel Adkins for getting his career back on track.
The 25-year-old forward is playing some of the best football of his career alongside Gary Hooper for the League One leaders, and is relishing playing every week.
"I enjoyed last season, but this year is more enjoyable because we're winning games," he told the Scunthorpe Telegraph.
"I'm really enjoying being back here.
"During my last few months at Barnsley, me and the manager had differing opinions about what he wanted from me and what I wanted to do.
"But that's football. It's part and parcel of the game and you just have to get on with it.
"But Nigel Adkins had the faith in me to bring me back to the club and I'm really grateful to him for that.
"I had two-and-a-half great years here first time around and I want that to continue. Getting promoted this season will certainly help."
