Iron boss Nigel Adkins wants Jonathan Forte to return from his loan spell at League Two side Notts County still a happy player.

The 22-year-old Barbados international is heading to Meadow Lane for a month-long spell, and Adkins has neccesitated the need for him to get some goals so he arrives back full of confidence for a busy Christmas period with Scunthorpe.

"I've told him to go and score a hat-trick in every game and keep that lovely smile on his face," he told the Scunthorpe Telegraph.

"I want him to enjoy playing football, run round, terrorise League Two and then come back in a month's time ready to terrorise League One.

"It's all about confidence. Everyone needs confidence and to be told that they're doing well.

"Jonno's got the massive attribute of pace and he can score goals.

"He's been unfortunate at this moment in time because the great form of Paul Hayes and Gary Hooper have limited the opportunities for him and for Ben May."
