The Iron's ex-Cheltenham midfielder Grant McCann says he has no plans to celebrate if he scores against his former club on Saturday.

The 28-year-old Northern Ireland international enters the match in fine form and will return to the side after missing Scunthorpe's last two games through being away with his country.

"Cheltenham is still in my heart and I still look out for their results," McCann told thisisgloucestershire.

"If I score on Saturday I won't celebrate because it's the club that gave me a chance and I thoroughly enjoyed my time there.

"It's a lovely town and my family love it there, so I am looking forward to getting down there and seeing a few old faces."

He added: "Things are going very well for the team and for me personally.

"I was pleased to be back in the Northern Ireland squad after 12 or 13 months out because I wasn't sure if Nigel Worthington (manager) was going to pick me.

"But hopefully I repaid his faith by scoring against San Marino and I carry that on for Scunthorpe.

"Everyone will probably make us favourites against Cheltenham, but we know it's going to be a hard game and we will be under no illusions"
