Winger Martyn Woolford says his second-half display against Crewe Alexandra was a long time coming.

Revelling in a right-wing position, the former York wideman put in a dazzling display to help Scunthorpe see off the Railwaymen in a 3-0 victory.

He told the Scunthorpe Telegraph: "I enjoyed myself, especially in the second half" he said. "I've had that performance in my locker, I've just been waiting to try and get it out.

"I've still got things to learn, still got to keep improving.

"I've got to know all the lads quite well now so communication and team spirit is right up there.

"It's all coming together hopefully.

"When we've won and had a good performance we just go back to the training ground and keep working hard, nothing changes even though we're winning."
