Iron boss Nigel Adkins says his team are capable of great things in League One this season.

Victory by three goals or more over Crewe can see them overhaul Leicester at the top of the table, but all Adkins is focusing on is extending the club's unbeaten run to ten straight matches.

"We are delighted with our form at the moment," he told the Scunthorpe Telegraph.

"The lads have been magnificent and yes, I believe we are on the right course for a good season. If a result goes against us, it won't be because we haven't prepared ourselves right and it won't be because we haven't got the right attitude.

"We have got goals in our team and I believe that over the course of the season we will be able to put together winning sequences of four or five games.

"And that will give us an opportunity. It won't be as if the wheels have come off if we have an adverse result."
