MURPHY: IT COULD BE A VITAL POINT
Sent off United goalkeeper Joe Murphy says a draw at Leyton Orient may prove a decent result in the long run.
Scunthorpe were two goals ahead at half-time following strikes from Izzy Iriekpen and Paul Hayes, but Murphy's red card for a foul on John Melligan inside his area turned the match around.
Adam Boyd promptly dispatched the rebound after substitute 'stopper Josh Lillis initially saved his penalty. Then, Stephen Purches levelled the scores on 69 minutes. It was United who pressed for a winner in the closing stages, but it wasn't to come.
He told the Scunthorpe Telegraph: "It's tough with 20 minutes to go when you're down to 10 men and only 2-1 up.
"We are all disappointed with the result, because we know we can play better.
"It wasn't just about the sending off, because the lads did well for half an hour and battled hard. There were a lot of tired legs out there.
"I think we were disappointed because we know there's still a lot more to come from us.
"We know we've not hit our peak yet, which is a good thing because we're winning games.
