United goalkeeper Joe Murphy feels the lethal strike partnership between Paul Hayes and Gary Hooper will only get stronger as they begin to learn more about each other's game.

The duo have helped fire Scunthorpe up to joint top in League One, and the stopper says the double-act will continue to take the division by storm.

"They look good together, they have the potential to be the best attacking partnership in the division," he told the Scunthorpe Telegraph.

"We always knew Hayesy has the quality to play up there.

"He came in last year and it didn't really go right for him, probably because he was in and out of the team.

"They've started well together and they're always laughing and joking on the training ground too. They enjoy each other's company.

"They've gelled really quickly which is a good thing for us. It takes a lot of pressure off the rest of the team if they score the goals."
