WE CAN HANDLE THE PRESSURE - MCCANN
Midfielder Grant McCann says his team can cope with the pressure placed on them after becoming League One pacesetters.
Saturday's 2-0 win over Yeovil made it seven victories in succession for Nigel Adkins' team, who are now level with leaders Oldham on points, and the ex- Barnsley man reckons there are better things to come from his team.
McCann told the Scunthorpe Telegraph: "When you look at Saturday, there were one or two sloppy things that we have to cut out before we're on top form - but I'm sure we can do that.
"It's always hard when the media or the press say we should win games. It puts a little bit of pressure on you.
"But we can handle the pressure. We want to be up there all season and so we know we're going to have to deal with that expectation.
"It's all about taking it onto the field and giving a display like we did on Saturday.
"To be honest, I didn't think we got out of third gear on Saturday. I think we've still got another two gears to go. Hopefully that will come in the next few weeks."
