Striker Paul Hayes is revelling in his successful partnership with Gary Hooper.

The two forwards have formed a great bond up front together for the second-placed Iron so far this season, and Hayes feels it is a double-act which can only get better with time.

Hayes, who turned 25 on Saturday, told the Scunthorpe Telegraph: "With every strike partnership you need to understand each other as soon as possible" said the former Barnsley man.

"Before this season we didn't know about each other, but the gaffer brought us in and played us together.

"At the moment it's paying off. We know each other's games and we like to play and link up.

"We've been playing really well together and both getting on the score-sheet."
