Iron manager Nigel Adkins says the goal threat which his wingers possess this season is pleasing, as his freescoring team look to make it five wins out of five against Carlisle United on Saturday.

Martyn Woolford, Garry Thompson, Kevan Hurst and Jonathan Forte provide string competition for places, something which Adkins feels will get the best out of his widemen.

He told the Scunthorpe Telegraph: "We brought Garry Thompson and Martyn Woolford into the building and they're two wingers who I believe will score goals.

"Garry scored one the other week from a Kevan Hurst cross and it's nice that Martyn got himself in the position to score at Brighton.

"Martyn's got a big future in the game."
