Scunthorpe United boss Nigel Adkins has made his mind up about full-back Michael Lea - he wants to keep him. While the Iron have now released all the other trialists they had on view last week, Lea remains firmly at Glanford Park. They have already had initial talks with the agent of the 20-year-old former Manchester United defender - and Adkins is keen to get something tied up quickly.

Open-top bus celebrations are always an interesting affair - who can forget England's Ashes parade with a bleary-eyed Andrew Flintoff who hadn't been to bed. However, Huddersfield Town new boy Andy Butler might even beat that should the Terriers get promoted - by dressing up as Wonder Woman reports the Yorkshire Evening Post. Defender Butler, 24, was Stan Ternent's third summer signing after making a name for himself with 136 appearances in six seasons at Scunthorpe United. But Butler is famed for another role after dressing up as Wonder Woman during the 2007-08 season when he appeared on Crossbar Challenge for Sky Sports One's Soccer AM.

Jack Hobbs insists he is not daunted by the prospect of trying to force his way into Rafael Benitez's first-team plans on a regular basis. The Portsmouth-born defender spent the second part of last term on loan at Scunthorpe United but is now back with the Reds for their pre-season training camp in Switzerland.
