MONDAY'S MEDIA ROUND-UP
Scunthorpe United look to be on the verge of further strengthening their ranks after manager Nigel Adkins admitted to being impressed with on-trial left-back Michael Lea. The 20-year-old, released by Manchester United, has appeared in both of the Iron's pre-season friendlies so far, at Brigg Town and against Doncaster Rovers on Saturday.

Scunthorpe boss Nigel Adkins has hinted he could be prepared to offer former Manchester United defender Michael Lea a full-time deal. The 20-year-old has been training with the club for the last fortnight and produced a polished performance in Saturday's 1-1 draw at Doncaster.

Rotherham United manager Mark Robins is set for talks with on-trial striker Reuben Reid after the 19-year-old, released by Plymouth Argyle, made an impact in the goalless draw with Derby County on Rotherham's first appearance at their new 'home' the Don Valley Stadium on Saturday which saw around 3,000 turn out. "I've been impressed by what I've seen of him and I'll be looking to offer him something," said Robins. Reid could figure in tonight's game at Sheffield FC and, if not, against Scunthorpe United at Don Valley tomorrow.

A sweetly-headed goal will serve as a great boost for Ian Morris ahead of Scunthorpe United's League One season. The Iron midfielder connected with a Kevan Hurst corner to put his team in front after only three minutes at the Keepmoat Stadium on Saturday. And though United couldn't quite see out their lead, with Stuart Elliott equalising for Doncaster Rovers just four minutes from time, Morris is convinced the Iron are well equipped to mount a title challenge this year. "I think the gaffer's done well, all the new lads have slotted in nicely, so we're all geared up for the start of the season" he said.
