The Ironesses roared to a 4-1 home victory over Bradford City last Friday.

Deb Hearn opened the scoring with a blistering strike after a few minutes. Scunthorpe dominated, taking advantage of the back wind. Sue Hunsley on the right flank & Carrie Dodge on the left gave United much needed width.

The wind in the second half was going to pose the same problems for the home side as it had for Bradford but Scunthorpe coped well and had the Bradford goal under some pressure for the next 45 mins.

The third goal came half way through the half from Sue Hunsley who was alert to what looked like a stoppage in play to crack home a great goal.

Every one of several corners looked dangerous as they were swung in from Sue Green and from one of these set pieces Smithson stuck in her 2nd goal from a goalmouth melee.

Bradford managed to score themselves a goal towards the end of the game but Becky Evans otherwise had good game commanding her area well through the game.

The MotM was Natasha Cooke but there were also good games from Evans and Hunsley.
