The privilege is usually reserved for the country's top players but The Football Association invited fans from Scunthorpe to create their own special piece of FA Cup history by visiting the official FA Cup Trophy Tour.

The free nationwide tour rolled into town on Monday to give fans of all ages the chance to sample the history, heritage and magic of the world's most famous domestic cup competition.

Strikers Paul Hayes and Gary Hooper got their hands on the trophy, while our main club sponsors Rainham Steel also took advantage of the silverware being down at Glanford Park.

The tour was open for school groups between 11.00am and 3.00pm before the general public who had registered online beforehand had the chance to sample it from 3.00pm to 7.00pm.
