ELLIOTT RESIGNS FROM BOARD

Posted on: Mon 19 Oct 2009

Scunthorpe United today (Monday, October 19, 2009) reluctantly accepted the resignation of director Simon Elliott after five and a half years on the board.

Chairman Steve Wharton said he was very sorry to lose Simon but fully understood that he was unable to commit sufficient time and energy to the football club due to other pressing obligations and commitments.

Mr Wharton said: "If Simon cannot give something 100 per cent it plays on his mind but I know he will always be a fanatical Scunthorpe United supporter.

"We very much appreciate his contribution to the success of our club whilst he has been a director and in deed for the many years of sponsorship, in its various forms, before he joined the board.

"We will always be grateful for his valuable contribution to the well being and running of our club."
