The Iron's youth team finished pre-season with a 6-3 away win at Tranmere Rovers on Saturday.
United's juniors played very well as Jamie Wootton scored three and also hit the crossbar.Billy Beresford, Curtis Bateson and trialist Hakeem (from West Ham) also scored.
Scunthorpe were two goals up inside five minutes through Wootton and Bateson but the hosts were level by half-time.
However, the Iron dominated the second half and played some really good football as they romped to victory.
They kick-off their new league season on Saturday with a home game against Grimsby Town (11.00am kick-off at Gainsborough Trinity's Northolme Stadium).
