YOUTHS LOSE AT NOTTS COUNTY

28 February 2015

Two quick-fire goals in the second half subjected Scunthorpe United’s youth team to a 4-1 defeat when they played Notts County on Saturday.

The Iron got off to a flying start, taking the lead after 90 seconds. Levi Sutton headed home after good work from Reece Mosanya, who put in a great cross.

County then levelled after 23 minutes as striker Colby Bishop found space in Scunthorpe’s box to convert with a fine header from a set piece.

County doubled their tally to take the lead after the half-hour mark, in a first-half ravaged by strong winds at Carlton’s football ground.

United nearly equalised early in the second half as Taron Hare bundled a long throw into the box and there was no Scunthorpe man in the six-yard box to meet it.

County then scored twice in three minutes with similar strikes to win the game, Kieran Blaney found the back of the net first before Bishop grabbed a brace following a good run. He showed good composure to finish and seal the 4-1 win for the Magpies.
