WILLIAMS EDGING CLOSER

2 October 2015

Manager Mark Robins has provided a positive update on the fitness of midfielder Luke Williams, saying that he's not far away from returning to first-team action.

Despite the good progress Williams is making, Robins stated that it's important to ensure the final stage of his recovery is carried out in the correct manner.

"We've got Luke training again now, which is great. He joined in again with a full session on Thursday, which is brilliant," he told The Iron PlayerHD.

"He's maybe a week to ten days away.

"He'll play some part in the reserve game on Tuesday. If he'd have had the game beforehand, he'd have been involved this week.

"But he's looking okay, his movement's fine, he's done everything. His twisting and moving is fine. We've just got to make sure this end stage is as good as it possibly can be."

Robins was speaking ahead of this weekend's clash with Fleetwood Town, which he went on to preview.

"It'll be a good game for both teams," he said.

"They've just come off a 5-1 defeat, so they'll obviously want to put that right. We'll look to go and put our mark on the game and look to go and pick up three points.

"They've got some good players, but they've had some up and down results."

"We've got to look forward to turning the results around as soon as we can," he added, when talking about our own form.

"We'll turn it around, but we obviously want to try and do it as quickly as possible."
