Scunthorpe play Winterton Rangers and Frickley Athletic on Tuesday evening.
Reacting after Saturday's win over Huddersfield, manager Russ Wilcox stated that he is still unsure as to which players will be featuring in the games.A handful of players have picked up knocks in the previous friendly matches so far during pre-season which forced a couple to miss the victory over Huddersfield Town on Saturday afternoon.
The boss confirmed that a strong side will be sent to play Frickley but is yet to decide on the strength of the team that will play Winterton.
Wilcox told The Iron Player: “I’ll have a think about what sort of sides we’ll be sending to both Frickley and Winterton because there’s a few players that have played a couple of 90 minute games now.
“Some of them are key players in the team and I’m not sure if I want to play them on Tuesday.
“It’ll certainly be a strong team going to Frickley but I’m not sure who we’ll have available for the Winterton one.
“I’ll assess everyone and hopefully have more of an idea then.”
The win over Huddersfield was United’s fourth triumph of pre-season as the squad prepare for their upcoming League One campaign.
Wilcox revealed his delight following the match and stated that winning breeds confidence around the camp.
“It’s nice to win because it breeds confidence,” he continued.
“The lads went away from the Huddersfield game feeling good about themselves and that bodes well for the football club because you don’t want a pre-season where you’re getting turned over all the time.
“Hiccups are probably going to happen along the way but we can take a lot of positivity out of the Huddersfield performance.”
New signing Lyle Taylor started the game against Mark Robins’ side and Wilcox thinks that the striker is starting to show glimpses of what he can do in the final third.
Young forward Curtis Bateson was brought on for the final section of the match and the manager was similarly pleased with his performance.
Wilcox added: “Lyle is getting fitter and stronger and I think he’s starting to show what he’s about in his last two performances.
“No disrespect to Scottish League football but it’s a little bit slower and more possession based and we’re trying to play at a bit more of a tempo if we can.
“Curtis came on for the last 15 minutes and showed good quality.
“We all know about his energy, he works ever so hard for the team and I’m pleased with his development at the moment.”
