WE WANT TO GO AS FAR AS WE CAN

1 September 2015

Iron defender Jack King says the disappointment of letting a two-goal lead slip against Colchester will spur the team on to ensure that they return to winning ways against Barnsley.

It's the second time United have faced the Tykes this season and despite suffering defeat to Lee Johnson's side in August, King says the squad don't fear anyone.

"We're not scared of anyone in the league, we know on our day if we get things right we're a match for anyone," he told The Iron PlayerHD.

"We got ourselves in a good position on Saturday and we're pleased with the way that we started the game.

"It's nice to have the games coming thick and fast, because when you get a result that you don't really want, you want to go out and play the next day and get the right result."

"All the lads want to do better, no matter how well we're doing," he said.

"The results against Millwall and Colchester have spurred us on to go and put things right against Barnsley.

"We've got to eradicate those mistakes that we've been making if we do want to shoot up the league.

"It's important to go far in this competition, because an opportunity to play at Wembley is one you can never turn down."

King also spoke highly about the Iron's new loan signing Murray Wallace and says the Scotsman has settled into the club well.

"Murray has been added to the squad and I'm sure that he'll be a good addition for us," he explained.

"He's fitted in well, he obviously gives us that left-footed balance that we haven't had since we lost Niall Canavan.

"We've got more solidness with him in the team I feel and hopefully that can only get stronger."
