Manager Brian Laws was quick to hail the impact of Matt Sparrow in Saturday's 7-1 away pre-season win at Brigg Town.
Three years after leaving the Iron, on Thursday Sparrow re-signed for the club where arguably he spent the most successful period of his career and according to Laws it was business as usual.“He looked like he had never been away,” remarked the manager who gave him his United debut 14 years ago.
“We all know what he brings to the team and that was precisely why we wanted to bring him back to the football club.
“More than anything he is a winner and I think the fans saw that out there, he wants to win every ball.
“But not just Matt Sparrow that there were a lot of positives to take from the game, now we need to continue to build over the next few days and keep looking forwards.”
