SEEN SOME POSITIVE SIGNS

24 October 2014

Scunthorpe manager Mark Robins is pleased with what his players have given him during his time at Glanford Park so far.

United are unbeaten in three, with their latest result being a 2-2 draw with Port Vale.

Robins said he saw positive signs on Tuesday night and would like see that more often.

Robins told The Iron Player: “On Tuesday night I think they gave me everything they had.

“There were one or two positive signs, but we have to do that more consistently.”

Robins also praised the attitude of the team, saying their willingness to listen will give the team a very good chance.

He continued by discussing the potential and that he will give the opportunity for that to break through.

He said: “I think they are a really good set of lads. There is no doubt about that. Within that there are some very very good players, with some really good potential.

"We have to make sure that potential is brought out.

“I need to try and give them every opportunity to break through.

“On the other side of it they need to give me every opportunity to pick them.

“They are a great set of lads and when you have got that, a willingness to listen and a willingness to do stuff you are asking them to do, then you have got a good chance.

“We will be fine as long as long as we graft and work hard."

“We are at a point where we are trying to get some momentum to rise up the division. Its early days, but it is something we have to be patient with,” he added.
