ROWE JOINS ON LOAN

2 October 2015

United have completed the signing of Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Tommy Rowe on a one-month loan.

His stay with the Iron expires after the home game against Barnsley on Saturday, October 31 and he will wear the No 19 shirt.

Rowe joined his parent club Wolves in June 2014 after his contract at former side Peterborough United expired.

The Wythenshawe-born midfielder began his career in Manchester United's youth set-up, before joining Stockport County a year later. Rowe soon made an impression at Edgeley Park as, soon after scoring his first goal for County, he scored a hat-trick in an away match at Rotherham United a few days later.

Rowe then joined Peterborough United on a three-year contract in May 2009 and got off the mark for his new club in a 4-0 victory away to Wycombe Wanderers in the first round of the League Cup. He also netted first in the Posh's play-off final victory over Huddersfield Town in 2011.

He was appointed captain ahead of the 2012-13 season, in a season which ultimately would end in relegation for Rowe and his team-mates, despite amassing a total of 54 points.

In his final season with Peterborough, he lifted the Football League Trophy after a 3-1 victory over Chesterfield, but suffered play-off disappointment as Posh were beaten by Leyton Orient.

The left sided midfielder, who can also operate at left-back, has made 14 appearances for Wanderers so far.
