ROAR MAKES FIRST-EVER VISIT

26 November 2015

United had a visit from Norway last weekend as Roar Tiller and three of his friends made the long trip from Scandinavia.

In what he described as “a dream from the 1970’s” he made his first-ever trip to watch Scunthorpe United play, as we took on Bradford City last weekend.

Roar and his friends, all of whom support different Football League clubs, arrived at Glanford Park and embarked on a tour around the stadium, which included an abundance of photo taking, and meeting the players in the dressing room prior to the game.

The group also met club historian John Staff and bought club merchandise. In the knowledge that Roar had already purchased a jersey from the club shop in advance to pick up on the day, the club staff retrieved the package and got the shirt signed for him and presented it to him on the pitch ahead of kick-off – shortly after speaking to the Iron fans on the PA system after being interviewed by Jim Coulson.

Roar acquainted himself with the Scunthorpe faithful, integrating with supporters in the Iron Bar and stated it will definitely not be his last visit to watch United in action.

We will look forward to welcoming Roar and his friends back to an Iron game very shortly in the future.
