PROMISING PARTNERSHIP

24 October 2014

Loan defender Shaun Brisley is enjoying his time at the club and believes that he is forming a promising partnership with fellow central defender Andrew Boyce.

Speaking to The Iron Player, the Peterborough man praised the players that the club have and believes that has helped him settle in over the past month.

He said: "I’m really enjoying my time here, it’s good to get games consistently. the lads are fantastic here so that’s helped me gel even more.

"I think that me and Boycey have done well and I’m enjoying playing with him.

"We feel we’ve formed a good partnership and hopefully when my loan gets extended, we can work on that even more and help the club keep some more clean sheets."

Asked how life was going under new manager Mark Robins so far, Brisley praised the positive attitude that he has brought to the club in his short time in charge thus far.

"I’m enjoying it and I think all the other lads are as well," he said.

"He’s brought a professional attitude to the club, which is nice and he’s got everyone working hard for each other.

"I think you could see that at Port Vale the other night so it’s going well so far."

Reflecting on the 2-2 draw against Port Vale on Tuesday night, the 24-year-old believes that while it was a game that could’ve been won, the team did well to come back and earn a point in the end.

He said: "I thought it was a game we could’ve won I’d say that we were on top in the second half but obviously the sending off didn’t help.

"But I think we did well to come back from behind and hold out for a point after that."

Brisley believes that if the Iron carry on doing the same things that they have been doing, they can beat an in-form Notts County on Saturday afternoon.

He stated: "Notts County are going well this season, they’ve improved under Shaun Derry from last year so I expect a tough game.

"They’ve scored eight goals in two games, which is obviously a good ratio but every game is a tough game in this league and it’s one that we’ll be looking to win.

"I think we need to carry on doing what we have been doing and maybe cutting out individual errors that have cost us goals.

"If we do that then I think that we can win the game."
