The Iron travel to Oldham on Saturday and will be looking to make it back-to-back wins following victory over Fleetwood.
Paddy Madden grabbed the only goal in a 1-0 win, and United will hope to win consecutive matches for the first time this season.They will be up against a tough Oldham side that has only lost twice all season though, however they have only won once.
The Latics have drawn their last four matches and have shared the points in eight of their 11 matches this season.
They find themselves level on points with the Iron, ahead only on goals scored, meaning Mark Robins’ side could go above them with a win.
David Dunn has recently been appointed as full-time manager and will hope his first full game in the role will end in success.
The Iron could be able to welcome attacker Luke Williams back for the trip to Oldham, with the 22-year-old playing for the development side in midweek.
This means Niall Canavan and Stephen Dawson are the only long-term absentees.
Defender Murray Wallace is a doubt though after picking up a knock against Fleetwood, while Robins said Jamie Ness is about a fortnight away from a first team return.
Lee Croft will hope his experience can help guide the Latics to a successful season, which sees him start his third spell at the club.
He started his career at Manchester City, where he made a few appearances and managed to score in a 2005 Premier League clash with Fulham.
Croft was regularly used as a substitute, and enjoyed his first spell at Oldham whilst at City, joining the Latics on loan.
After failing to hold down a regular place at Manchester City, Croft joined Norwich where he would enjoy a successful three years.
He won player of the season in his final year, which saw the winger join Derby County, although he endured a disappointing time.
A second spell at Oldham followed, where he proved to be a success, but he turned down the chance to stay and opted for St Johnstone.
A brief spell in Scotland was followed by Croft joining up with Oldham once again. He signed at the start of the season on a one-year deal.
The last time the Iron travelled to Boundary Park they fell to a 3-2 loss in an entertaining clash between the sides last season.
Andrew Boyce put the visitors ahead with a good header, only for Oldham’s Jonathan Forte to level the scores just minutes later.
Rory Fallon soon put the Iron ahead again though, grabbing a goal on his first appearance to give his new side a half-time lead.
The Latics responded strongly after the break though and soon turned the game around to claim all three points.
Danny Philliskirk came off the bench at the break and found the net twice, with the winner coming seven minutes from time.
The defeat left the Iron in the bottom four, while the win extended Oldham’s unbeaten run and lifted them just outside the play-offs.
