The Iron head to Fleetwood Town on Tuesday night aiming to build on Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Yeovil and return to winning ways after three matches without victory.
The play-off places are still just seven points away after Hakeeb Adelakun’s equaliser secured a point for the Iron, making up for Paddy Madden’s earlier penalty miss.Fleetwood head into the game on the back of a disappointing 3-0 defeat at Chesterfield, which meant they lost ground in the race for the top six.
The Cod Army’s home form has been pretty impressive this season, with Graham Alexander’s side losing just three matches at Highbury so far.
They will be without Antoni Sarcevic for the visit of the Iron though as the midfielder was sent off in the reversal at Chesterfield, with manager Alexander also dismissed.
Mark Robins will also be missing a player through suspension as Neal Bishop completes the second of his two match ban for picking up 10 yellow cards this season.
The Iron boss was hopeful that Marcus Williams, who missed the draw on Saturday with a back injury, would be fit to return for the trip to Fleetwood.
Loan signing Conor Townsend took his place at left back at the weekend and may continue even if Williams is fit enough to return to the squad.
The reverse fixture between the two sides at Glanford Park ended in a 2-0 victory for Fleetwood, with Jamie Proctor and Gareth Evans on target.
The Iron won 1-0 on their trip to Fleetwood last season, with both teams eventually securing promotion from League Two last season.
Sam Winnall scored the only goal for the Iron, in what was their first ever encounter with the Cod Army, following their meteoric rise into the Football League.
This will be only the fourth time that the two sides have played each other, with the record standing at a win apiece and also a 0-0 draw at Glanford Park last season.
