The Iron beat Millwall 3-2 in their play-off final at Wembley on this day in 2009.
 
Following a dramatic penalty shoot-out against MK Dons and the Lions brushing aside Leeds United, the two sides met to battle for promotion to the Championship.
 
In what was arguably one of the best games at the new-Wembley, with Scunthorpe twice ahead, the latter of which the one that stuck seeing the team bounce back to the second tier at the first time of asking.
 
Matt Sparrow stole in to fire the Iron ahead early on before a brace inside two minutes from Gary Alexander including a looping volley from 35 yards to put the Lions ahead going into the interval.
 
Sparrow completed his double midway through the second half with a composed finish before Martyn Woolford fired low to win the game with four minutes remaining.
