NEW STADIUM LOCATION REVEALED

25 July 2014

We can reveal the location of the Iron's proposed new £18-million stadium.

As shown on the overhead map above, it is to be built as part of the Lincolnshire Lakes Project.

The club have signed a deal with landowners the Lucent Group, who are delivering the project, for a 60 acre plot of land.

The site for the new stadium will be owned by the club.

The stadium is planned to be south of the railway line, on the M181.

A planning application is expected to be submitted on Monday, August 18.

United chairman Peter Swann said: "We are very happy with the deal and this is a very exciting time for the club. We're moving forward now.

"We've had some great support from the council and are very excited to be part of the Lakes Project.

"This will allow us to move into a better stadium and give us the opportunity to create different income streams as we will be working with hotels and gym companies and a few other businesses.

"There will be good access and parking and we will be able to accommodate all the facilities on one site.

"It is a very exciting project."

Not only will there be substantial car parking, but the area around the stadium will also host a show pitch for the reserve and youth teams to utilise.

Additonally, there will be training pitches for the first team, academy and community scheme to utilise - including an indoor 3G area.
