NESS WILL SIT OUT BURY CLASH

18 April 2016

Manager Graham Alexander has confirmed midfielder Jamie Ness will continue to miss out with a calf problem.

Ness was absent from the Iron's 3-2 away victory over his former side Crewe after picking up the complaint in training.

In his press conference previewing Tuesday's encounter with Bury, Alexander confirmed the former Stoke midfielder would sit out once more.

"Jamie's not going to be a part of the squad against Bury," he told The Iron PlayerHD.

"He's still feeling his calf, so he won't be involved. Apart from that, we've got a relatively clean bill of health.

"We're down to the 18 players we've got fit and we will be picking a team we think can produce a performance to win the game."

Elsewhere, other than Scott Wiseman (who is out for the remainder of the season), Sean McAllister has stepped up his recovery from an ankle injury.

"He's been back on the grass for the first time today (Monday)," he continued.

"He warms up with us but then does his stuff separately. The work that he's doing on his own has stepped up. I'm not sure whether he did any ball work, but he was certainly on his knees by the end of the session, so he was certainly put through his paces.

"It's good to see and it's good for him. Being injured for any player is a horrible time, but getting back out on the grass is a step forward in the right direction and hopefully he will be kicking a ball soon."
