MIRFIN POOLS STAY SET TO BE EXTENDED

4 March 2015

David Mirfin’s loan at Hartlepool expires this week, after joining the Pools on a one-month temporary deal, and Mark Robins has spoken about what's next for the defender.

Speaking on The Iron Player, Robins said: “We’ve spoken to Mirf and I think he’s keen to keep playing, and there’ll be an instant recall clause after the first 28 days so at this moment at time he can keep playing games.

“It was important that he played games after his injury, and it was important that he played games and got himself back in to a rhythm.”

Crewe Alexandra are next up for the Iron on Saturday with a trip to the Alexandra Stadium in order, and Robins commented that he’d speak more about the game later in the week, but it’s one they have to turn up and put in a performance for.

Robins rounded off talking about the importance of winning at Crewe, stating: “We’ll cross that bridge on Thursday, the season is a long one and there is a lot of games that you play where you don’t get the rub of the green sometimes.

“You can’t win every game, I’d love to win every game which we can’t do unfortunately, but we’re working hard and that’s all I can ask from my players.”
