The Iron came from behind twice on Tuesday to secure a point at Fleetwood.
Jamie Proctor gave Fleetwood an early lead, but the Iron hit back on the cusp of half time as Gary McSheffrey converted Isaiah Osbourne’s pass.The Cod Army restored their lead though thanks to Josh Morris’ strike, only for the Iron to hit back three minutes later through loanee George Evans.
The result means the Iron have now drawn their last two matches, meanwhile Fleetwood are 14th after the 2-2 draw, four points off the top six.
Elsewhere in League One, Bristol City extended their lead at the top of the league to ten points after they beat Leyton Orient 3-1away from home.
They had to come from behind though as Chris Dagnall gave the hosts the lead, but Luke Freeman, Aden Flint and Aaron Wilbraham turned the game around.
Other results helped the Robins and gave them a ten point cushion at the top, meanwhile Orient remain in the bottom four, one point from safety.
Preston moved into second despite drawing 2-2 at home to Doncaster, who stay in sixth place, after a dramatic finish at Deepdale.
Daniel Johnson had given the hosts the lead, but goals in the last ten minutes from Harry Forrester and Curtis Main gave Doncaster the initiative, only for a last minute Jermaine Beckford strike to rescue a point for Preston.
The Lilywhites moved into the top two after both of their rivals lost. MK Dons fell to a 2-1 defeat at home to Chesterfield and also ended the game with ten men.
Dean Lewington was dismissed for the Dons and they were made to pay as Caolan Lavery’s last minute strike gave the Spireites the victory and moved them within a point of the play-offs.
Swindon fell to their fourth defeat in six, losing 3-0 at home to Gillingham and dropping down to fourth. A Cody McDonald brace and a Jake Hessenthaler strike gave the Gills the points.
Fifth placed Sheffield United could not capitalise on Swindon’s slip, falling to a 2-1 defeat to Peterborough, who are now closing in on the top six.
Matty Done’s goal looked as though it would be enough for the Blades, but goals in the last two minutes from Jack Payne and Conor Washington completed the comeback for the Posh.
It was a bad evening for League One’s bottom six sides as they all fell to defeats, with Yeovil still bottom after a 1-0 defeat at home to Walsall.
Crawley also lost 1-0, falling to play-off chasing Bradford, while Colchester also remain in the bottom four after losing 1-0 at home to Notts County.
New boss Tony Mowbray watched from the stands as his Coventry side lost 1-0 to Barnsley, who have now won four on the bounce. The Sky Blues are just above the drop zone.
Crewe are still hovering above the bottom four after they lost 4-0 at Rochdale. Ian Henderson and Joe Bunney both scored twice as Dale romped to victory.
Oldham ended a run of three straight defeats by winning 1-0 at Port Vale, leapfrogging them in the process. Mike Jones scored the only goal at Vale Park.
