LEAGUE ONE ODDS AHEAD OF 2015/16

28 May 2015

With the League One line-up recently completed for the 2015/16 season, title sponsors SkyBet have released their first set of odds for the new campaign.

Sheffield United, who have recently parted company with manager Nigel Clough, head the list, with the Blades favourites to be crowned champions of the division at 13/2, while Millwall and Wigan Athletic are tipped to make instant returns to the Championship with odds of 8/1 and 9/1 respectively.

Still suffering from their play-off heartache, Swindon Town, are fifth favourites to win promotion to English football’s second tier, while backing Shrewsbury Town to make it back-to-back promotions comes in at 12/1.

The Iron are outsiders to be crowned Champions of the league at 33/1, but do have much shorter odds in getting promoted, with a 12/1 figure currently labelled to the club.

United are also 9/2 to finish in the top six and 28/1 are the current odds for the club to win the play-offs at Wembley this time next year.

Of the 24 teams in the league, Rochdale, Fleetwood, Coventry, Walsall and Oldham are expected to enjoy (or endure, depending on the aspirations of the club) a mid-table season, while Crewe Alexandra are odds-on favourites to plunge from League One to the basement tier – while they have the largest odds to lift the League One title at 100/1.

Also tipped to struggle are Colchester United, Port Vale and Gillingham, while newly-promoted Bury and Southend are currently favourites to just beat the drop.

Sign up to www.skybet.com/scunthorpe today and you could win £250,000 for the club and £5,000 for yourself. For every £1 you bet, you will earn a transfer fund token with every token entered into a prize draw for the transfer fund of £250,000 and a further £5,000 for yourself.

Ten fans were selected at random from around 70,000 SkyBet customers in December 2014, with the eventual winner drawn out to be Shaun Lander – a supporter of Nottingham Forest.

The league’s official sponsor and official betting partner have announced recently that they are continuing with that offer, with another fan set to win a total of £255,000 for both the club and for the individual. For further details click here.
