United have completed the signing of Irishman Mark Hughes.
He pens a one-year deal with the option of an extra one in the club's favour.The 22-year-old midfielder has Airtricity League experience with Bohemians, but had spent the past year with First Division side Tolka Rovers in Dublin.
Along with fellow Irishman Jordan Keegan, he impressed during the Iron's pre-season tour of Ireland, scoring the winner in the 1-0 victory over Wayside Celtic.
Since then, he and Keegan linked up with the club ahead of the home friendly with Manchester United XI and have continued to train with Scunthorpe ahead of the new season.
