IRON LOOKING FORWARD TO SOUTHEND TEST

12 February 2016

Joint caretaker boss Andy Dawson says focus quickly switched to Saturday's home game against Southend after the postponement against Doncaster.

He told The Iron PlayerHD: "After the two results we had previously, we were really looking forward to it, in a buoyant mood and full of confidence.

"But as soon as we found out the game was off on Saturday, the next focus was Southend and that's what we've continued to do for the rest of the week."

Nick Daws and Andy Dawson take charge of their third game as joint caretaker managers this weekend.

Having faced the Shrimpers twice already in the current campaign, Dawson revealed the Iron are well prepared but, on the other hand, expecting a tough test from Phil Brown's side.

"We know a lot about them. It's a manager I know very well, and it's a team we've played twice already. They're a hard-working, physical, strong team, and they can cause teams problems," he said.

"But we know about them, we know what they're all about, but it'll be about us preparing ourselves right and ready to go again on Saturday.

"We have to come ready and prepared to face a fight on Saturday afternoon, because that's what Phil Brown's teams are, with a lot of quality as well."
