GETTING TO CHESTERFIELD

23 October 2015

The Iron make the League One trip to take on Chesterfield on Saturday. Here us our guide to their Proact Stadium home.

PROACT STADIUM...
Opened in 2010, the 10,400 all seated stadium sits surrounded by a Tesco Extra superstore. Costing £13-million, the stadium is very balanced and no stand dominates the ground. The Spireites have adopted a “Wall of Fame” and a “Buy a Brick” scheme in the South and North West corners respectively.

GETTING THERE...
Leave the M1 at Junction 29 and take the A617 towards Chesterfield. At the end of the dual carriageway atthe edge of the town centre, turn right onto the A61 towards Sheffield. At the first roundabout turn left and the stadium is down on the right. For the main entrance turn right into Sheffield Road and then right again into the club car park. However the club car park is for permit holders only.

AWAY FANS…
Away supporters are housed in the Rubicon Print Stand, the north side of the stadium, where 2,112 supporters can be seated. Entrance to the stand is by ticket only and there is a concourse with flat screen televisions with commentary. Fans are housed close to the pitch and the stand has a low roof, which allows a lot of noise to be made.

PARKING…
The best advice to give, is to not leave your car in the Tesco car park. It will either no longer be there when you return, or you will receive a heavy fine a few days later. There is nearby street parking available on side roads off of Sheffield Road, if you arrive early enough. The club car park is for permit holders only.
