CAN'T WAIT TO GET BACK PLAYING AGAIN

2 October 2015

New loan signing Tommy Rowe says he's very happy to be joining the Iron and can't wait to get going.

Rowe has joined United on an one-month loan from Wolverhampton Wanderers and he hopes, after a frustrating last eight months, that he can get back to his best.

"I'm very happy. It came about around a week ago and I was very keen," he told The Iron PlayerHD.

"I've not been playing football for over seven or eight months now. I had a bad season with injuries last year and hopefully I can start playing games and get back to my best."

The 27-year-old says he's been fit and raring to go for a while now, but has been prevented from first team action because of the competition for places at his parent club Wolves.

Despite featuring in Wanderers' under-21 games, he feels there's no substitute for competitive action.

"I've been fit and raring to go, it's just that the squad at Wolves have been very strong," he said.

"I was keen to play some games and after having such a lengthy time on the sidelines last season, that match sharpness that I needed to get back to my best has not been available.

"I've played some under-21's games, but when it comes to playing actual football, there's nothing better than playing an actual match."

Rowe feels he can bring a certain level of experience to the squad, having played a vast amount of games in League One previously in his career.

He stated that he hopes that the Iron can return to winning ways and get back to where they should be.

"I'm an experienced player, I'm 27 and I've played quite a lot of games at this level and I know what it takes to win games," he explained.

"I've looked at the squad, we've got a great squad, great manager, great staff and I'm just very keen to come and enjoy it.

"Hopefully we get some wins and get us back up the league, which is where this club deserves to be."

United take on Fleetwood Town on Saturday and it's a game which Rowe can't wait for, as he looks to make his debut.

"When I found out I was available to play on Saturday, I was so chuffed to get 90 minutes or hopefully just play again," he revealed.

"We've trained for the last two or three days and I've really enjoyed it as I've been here. So I'm really looking forward to it."
