Iron defender Miguel Llera was stretchered off with ankle bruising in Saturday's 2-2 draw at Crawley Town.
The centre-back will be assessed over the course of this coming week as United prepare for their trip to Barnsley at the weekend.The 35-year-old former Sheffield Wednesday man had started United's last three matches.
Fellow central defender Andrew Boyce will definitely miss the clash at Oakwell after picking up his fifth yellow card of the season on Saturday. He will serve a one-match ban.
